Muted moon dreams - a poem
68Muted moon dreams - pain of the past
Muted moon dreams, is about pain of loss and the inability of the mind to let go, the mind seems to serve up memories when they are least expected, causing pain.. This is about some pain from the past that refuses to die, stubborn holding on even while I keep hitting the delete button... Sometimes I wish it was so easy to let go.. forget and move on... pain seems to linger like an unwanted guest. The silvery moon which was once a symbol of beauty and love now appears like a ghostly muted dream in monochrome. This too shall pass.....pain can never linger on... the moon will once again become to me all it once was.......
Muted moon dream in monochrome
Swathed in the pale light of the moon,
Silvery leaves tremulous in the breeze,
Cold shawl of shadows cocoon,
Reality's hold upon me cease!
Vagrant mind, wandering lost,
In the paths of turbulence past,
The moon brings up memories deep,
Of hours of absent sleep!
Peace that once resided here,
In the beauty of the world so dear,
Now seems so distant ,
Muted moon-dreams silent!
Loss does seem to weigh heavily,
Where moon light did lift ethereally,
Tears and pain compete,
Resolve concedes defeat!
A delete button would be nice,
To toss out the unwanted in a trice,
Stubborn memory, holding cruelly ,
Opening wounds constantly!
Silvery moon your rays penetrate,
Denying merciless pain the chance to abate,
Through windows shut, stealthily creeping,
Awakening agony, soul sweeping!

Beautiful indeed, Shalom.
There is beauty yet pain. Wishing you peace and joy, my friend!
This is beautiful but very sad..I hope your pain is gone. God bless you...
i wish I had even a pinch of your poetic talent! Oh well, I'll just have to keep reading yours.
how does it happen that a thing of beauty becomes the specter of your serenity...haunting yet sadly beautiful...
So beautifully composed and the sadness also combined gracefully .
A wonderful hub and here's to so many more for us to share on here.
Take care;
Eddy.
