A grain of sand - A pearl (poem)

Friendship - a grain of sand that births a pearl
I am always excited to make friends, they add meaning and joy to my life. It is like a grain of sand from a huge beach full of sand. A chosen grain of sand enters an oyster and penetrates it to create a pearl. There are millions around us, but it is just that one single chosen one who enters our life and makes it beautiful. I love to have friends, but I take a lot of time to make friends. I watch the person, study them and only then let them into my life. I am not too friendly in a way, but once I have found a friend I am hard to shake off... I will always be there for them, no matter what. That is friendship to me.
Friendship is like that priceless pearl, valued treasured, taken out and admired often. Friendship is like a soul connect. A part of you mingles with the other. A spiritual relationship. The Bible talks about the friendship of David and Johnathan in this way, that their souls were tied together.. I know that for many around me a friend is one who fills the gap, the ones you hang out with for pleasure or serves a need. I am not talking about such 'Hi and bye' relationships..Those friendships or so called friendships do nothing to you. I am talking about soul ties which leave indelible marks on your psyche. When you lose such a friend or on the verge of losing one ..it tears your being... your emotions and peace shatter..but such are the seasons of life. A friend is the mirror of your soul he/she is a bridge that connects you to you. Do not search for a friend outside, that grain of sand would have left a precious pearl behind. Search for it within your soul!!
This is a moment when my soul ached and cried... I took it out and thought I will string it together with some words.. .. I miss you my friend!!
A grain of sand
She has learned to love,
And give of herself,
To those she lets into her life,
It has been her fall,
She can see it all,
Through the pearls,
That cling to her eyes!
Often a stranger comes along,
Calling out a greeting to her,
She checks them out,
And lets them in,
And then a journey beings,
Of loving and giving,
Sharing and believing,
Often it works out fine!
There have been times,
When it did deeply hurt ,
Causing her to curl within,
But she can hardly remain,
Impassive or tough,
Unmoved or unfeeling,
To flip it off and let it fade,
She was never made,
To be that way!
She hurts, she cries,
But she knows in time,
Love will have its way.
She was once a toughened nut,
But pure love has had its say,
Little things in life,
Have made her what she is today,
To lose a friend,
Her soul, it does rend.
Neither brazen or cold
Nor even bold is she,
You know her now,
You knew her then,
That she could never pretend.
Life goes on,
And seasons do change.
Hoping to find,
Each other again.
Maybe you will,
Maybe you won’t,
It hardly matters,
Because in time,
The shell had opened,
To receive,
The grain of sand,
That disturbs the peace,
To birth the pearl,
That shall remain,
Uniquely precious,
For all eternity ingrained!

A lovely poem. i enjoyed reading this :)
no problem hun check out my new hub ' the dream that got away' and keep writing shimmering dawn its the way forward
Very beautifully said, shim. It's really sad when such friends get so caught up in their emotions that they can't let go of them, let the past be, and move on with their lives.
Yes to the power of friendship and unconditional acceptance. Nice writing here. Actually I don't think you can lose a true friend. When there is that soul connection, such love remains in one's heart forever. Just a thought....Peace and Light.....Gary.
Very touchy poem. A good and true friend is a price above rubies- a priceless treasure indeed!
This touches me, it is so beautiful! The merge of sand into a pearl, linking friendship, lovely indeed..Cheers
A beautiful poem, truly lovely thank you.
Dear Shimmering Dawn,
Voted beautiful ;)
Thanks for commenting on my hubs!
I have experienced intense spiritual connection with some friends before and I understand exactly your words that soul ties leave indelible marks on your psyche.
I truly believe in spiritual connection with friends/loved ones. Though I also have some failures in life, it is always a heartbreaking process when it comes to letting go. What is not meant to be will not be, and vice versa. It is perhaps something we need to encounter in life so that we could experience life as humans.
Warm Regards.
